Who we are

We’re welders, fabricators, and engineers, and we’ve been building pre-engineered steel structures since the mid-1990s. Every member of our management team has direct construction experience. We know what delays cost when your crew is already on site, and we know what it means to make a promise and keep it.

We don’t use pressure tactics, disappearing deals, or scripts. Our building consultants are here to understand your project, not pitch you into a corner. When you call Ostro, you talk to the people who built it.

Where We Started

Ostro began as Central Steel Building Systems in the mid-1990s, making precision-welded framing for heavy-duty semi-truck and trailer setups. Our reputation for structural weld quality spread fast, and so did the calls.

First came contractors asking us to repair and replace metal building frames from other manufacturers. Then came the metal building manufacturers themselves, asking us to make frames for them. The market had a quality problem. We had the expertise to solve it.

From there, we started rollforming our own sheeting, trim, and components. But we didn’t copy what was already out there; we redesigned the pre-engineered metal building system from the ground up, fixing the problems our contractor customers kept running into. The result is a building system with details you won’t find anywhere else: our proprietary fastener-concealing base angle, our perforated lightweight soffit paneling, and a kit designed to be erected by both contractors and experienced owner-builders.

Where We Are Today

In 2021, we reorganized under the MarPen Group, an integrated family of companies spanning manufacturing, design, distribution, construction, and inspection services. Ostro Steel Structures is the design and fabrication arm of that group. That means we can support your project from the first drawing to the final walkthrough, under one roof.

We manufacture in America. We employ American workers. And we ship direct to your jobsite from our 180,000 sq ft facility just outside Augusta, Georgia. No dealers. No markups. No middlemen.

As a manufacturer, we keep the entire process in-house: no subcontractors and no handoffs. Our engineers design to your specs, our crews fabricate the steel, and our inspectors check the work at every stage before it ships.
