Cold-Formed Structures
Over the years, many of our customers researching smaller-sized buildings (say, a 30’ wide home garage or workshop or a 50’ wide barndominium) have asked us for a product that offers the same great commercial-grade finishes of our welded-frame buildings, but at a lower cost per square foot with easy, DIY installation. Tall order indeed! So, we tinkered (as usual…) for a while and worked with our in-house engineers to develop a product that fit the bill perfectly. We’re now proud to offer our very own cold-formed buildings in sizes up to 80’ with each and every structure capable of meeting the same code and load requirements as our welded-frame buildings. Over 90% of the components in these buildings are roll-formed to ensure incredibly consistent profiles and fitment, and each cut and punch is laser-measured by our advanced production equipment. Even better still, our cold-formed buildings come standard with all-galvanized framing for high-durability rust protection. Requiring no welding at all, these buildings install easily in the field using high-quality bolts and self-tapping fasteners. After all that tinkering, our design engineers didn’t even ask for a raise, so we’re able to offer these innovative buildings to you at a lower cost per square foot than our welded frame buildings. Mission accomplished.
All our buildings come standard with 26ga exterior wall sheeting and trim, specially coated with a siliconized polyester baked on finish to stand up to years of heavy-duty use. Our standard “PBR” (purlin-bearing rib) profile is designed with an elongated overlap from panel-to-panel and comes with extra-tacky butyl tape to create a tight seal. All our fasteners are stainless steel capped, painted to color-match your wall and roof sheeting.
Ostro provides a full set of drawings with each building, stamped by a professional engineer licensed in your state. Pairing these drawings with our easy-to-read assembly instructions makes installation of your Ostro Steel Structures cold-form building a breeze—no onsite cutting, welding or punching.
